Coping with divorce and separation

221  is a voluntary organisation run very simply on self-help lines, and offers no  professional help or counselling.

221  is for any person at any stage of separation or divorce.

221    provides support by enabling people to meet with others who are facing similar difficulties

Why 221 works?  We meet in an environment where everyone understands each other; we all understand the loss of confidence and self esteem, the pain and the urgent need to talk with sympathetic listeners.

We have been running self help groups (formerly Divorce Recovery Workshop) for eight years. All members of the team are divorced or separated and respect the confidentiality of all participants. Over 100 people have attended the courses so far and have found comfort, strength and friendship.

Some recent quotes:-

"I didn't think I would be brave enough to turn up, but I am really glad I did"

"Seeing people who have 'got through' it is really encouraging"

"I found myself laughing again"

"Attending the course has given me the confidence I needed to move house"

"I feel safe and have made new friends"
